Baby Killdeer

Don't worry - this little guy isn't hurt. He took off running when I got close, and then realized he was probably doomed, so he hunkered down to avoid detection.

His mom was a few yards away -- and she was letting me know she was pretty upset with me.

I decided to dedicate a couple more horse pictures to Shakeyman's daughter.

What you don't see here is the grey horse trying to eat my bumper a few minutes previous.

Oilfield pictures

I guess I should try to take a few more actual oilfield pictures.. but in reality, its everything thats going on *around* the oilfield that I find so interesting.

Heres a drilling rig thats currently working for us..

Heres how they move these monsters. Thats right, two semi-trucks, one going each way. I'd hate to be the guy going backwards.

And here they are trying to fix the sign that they just wiped out while trying to negotiate a tight turn.

Spring storms in Colorado

I probably should have narrowed these down to just a few, but they just all turned out great.

These were taken a few weeks ago in mid April at, believe it or not, about 2 PM.

Buffalo or Bison?

I try to get as many pictures of these guys that I can, but the land owner here is a very suspicious guy. I'm not sure if he thinks I'm planning on packing one up and taking it home, but he watches me very close if he notices me pulled over.

Not strong enough to bend..

I figured I'd start by showing you a few of the things I have to deal with while driving from well to well. First here you'll see a decent size tree that 60+ mph winds took down over night.
